Online dermatologist in Spain (Madrid)
For patients in Spain and abroad
Specialist assessment of psoriasis and other inflammatory skin diseases, wherever you are
Online consultations allow me to see patients with psoriasis and other inflammatory skin diseases who need a specialist assessment without having to travel to Madrid.
This consultation format can be particularly useful for follow-up appointments, treatment reviews, second opinions and initial assessment of cases involving patients who live outside Madrid, elsewhere in Spain or abroad.
My aim is to provide rigorous, clear and personalised care remotely whenever the nature of the case allows for an appropriate online assessment.
What is an online dermatology consultation?
An online consultation is a form of medical care provided by video call that allows certain dermatological problems to be assessed without the patient having to attend the clinic in person at the initial stage.
It is not intended to replace an in-person consultation in every case. There are situations in which it is important to examine the skin directly, use additional diagnostic tests or carry out a more comprehensive face-to-face assessment. In many other circumstances, however, an online consultation can be a valuable way to assess the case, review progress, adjust treatment and answer questions conveniently and efficiently.
When can an online consultation be particularly useful?
An online consultation may be particularly useful in situations such as:
- patients living outside Madrid or in other parts of Spain;
- international patients;
- people who find it difficult to travel;
- patients seeking a specialist second opinion;
- follow-up of treatments that have already been prescribed;
- assessment of flare-ups or changes in the course of the disease;
- questions about how to use or adjust treatment;
- assessment of whether an in-person consultation is advisable or whether the case can initially be managed remotely.
It may also be a useful option for patients who, because of work schedules, travel arrangements or personal circumstances, need a more flexible way of accessing specialist medical care.
What can be assessed during an online consultation?
An online consultation can be particularly helpful in guiding the diagnosis and treatment of conditions such as psoriasis, hidradenitis suppurativa, atopic dermatitis and other inflammatory skin diseases.
Using the clinical information provided, photographs, previous medical reports and our discussion during the video consultation, I can carry out an initial assessment and help define the most appropriate next steps.
For many patients, this format is particularly useful for:
- answering questions conveniently and efficiently;
- reviewing the progression of the disease;
- assessing how treatment is being used;
- adjusting treatment according to the clinical response;
- and deciding whether online follow-up is sufficient or whether an in-person consultation would be advisable.

What an online consultation cannot replace
It is important to understand that an online consultation cannot always replace an in-person appointment.
Remotely, I cannot see or palpate the skin in the same way as during a physical examination, nor can I use certain diagnostic tools or complementary investigations that may be important for a complete assessment.
For this reason, whenever I consider that a case requires direct examination, additional tests or a more in-depth assessment, I will clearly recommend an in-person consultation.
The priority is not to favour one consultation format over another, but to provide the most appropriate assessment for each individual situation.

Online consultations for treatment follow-up
Once the condition has been diagnosed, the case assessed and treatment prescribed, many follow-up appointments can be carried out remotely.
This can be particularly useful for assessing:
- how the treatment is being used;
- whether the response is adequate;
- whether the treatment plan needs to be adjusted;
- whether there are any side effects or practical concerns;
- and how the condition is progressing between in-person reviews.
Online consultations may also be useful for reviewing topical treatments, home phototherapy, monitoring systemic therapies or managing flare-ups in patients who are already under my care.
Online consultations for patients outside Madrid
If you live far from Madrid or in another country, an online consultation can be a useful starting point for understanding how your condition should be approached and what the next steps may be.
In some cases, it allows a specialist assessment to begin without the need to travel during the initial stage. In others, it makes it possible to combine online and in-person follow-up so that you only need to attend the clinic when this is genuinely necessary.
It can also be useful if you are temporarily away from home, travel frequently or do not want logistical circumstances to interrupt the follow-up of your condition.
Online consultations allow me to see patients with psoriasis and other inflammatory skin diseases who need a specialist assessment without having to travel to Madrid.
Online consultations and second opinions
An online consultation can also be a useful way to request a specialist second opinion on psoriasis and other inflammatory skin diseases.
For patients with diagnostic uncertainty, incomplete disease control, previous treatment failure or a need to review important therapeutic decisions, this format allows an initial specialist assessment without the need to travel.
When appropriate, the second opinion can subsequently be completed with an in-person consultation.
How does an online consultation work?
The process is designed to make access to the consultation straightforward, clear and convenient.
In general, it includes:
- booking an appointment by telephone or through the available contact channels;
- sending your medical history, reports, photographs and any relevant documentation;
- a video consultation to review the case in detail;
- and personalised recommendations regarding diagnosis, treatment and next steps.
When necessary, I will advise whether further investigations or an in-person consultation would be appropriate.
Privacy and security
The online consultation is carried out through a platform that meets the applicable legal requirements for privacy and data protection.
My aim is for the process to be not only convenient, but also secure and well organised, allowing each patient to focus on what matters most: receiving a rigorous and useful assessment of their individual case.
